I am from Jersey and people always have stereotypes about us so I want to know what you really think. Have you ever met anyone from New Jersey or are you just saying this because of what you've heard? Thanks so much!

Most of the people in Jersey Shore are from NY and one from Rhode Island, they wish they were true New Jerseyans. Most of the Jersey people depicted in the media are from North NJ and it's giving the whole state of NJ a crappy rep.

I am from Texas and I use to think you were a bunch of good fella talking, big hair, gaudy, jewelry wearing, mammaluks. I have been to New Jersey, Cherry Hill, and went to Atlantic City and NYC via Newark, and found that you were nice, friendly decent people and more interested in me, with my accent and opinions, than I was in y'all's. I might be biased because I am a huge Kevin Smith fan, and love all his works, but the Sopranos and Jersey Shore is only going against y'all. PS. I only own one gun, an heirloom, don't own a horse, and hate country music, go techno/rock.

I'm from Jersey. Southside all my life, Trenton/Camden stand up!

I can understand why Jersey is always mocked though. It's a dirty slum of a state. There are some nice areas though....We are Americas Armpit.

That show Jersey shore has given us a more of a bad rep though...Not all of us are that ignorant and dumb, well, most of us are but some of us aint.

Jerzzzz!

I don't know about stereotypes about New Jersey or why anyone stereotypes NJ, I think its just New Yorkers who do that. I am from Toronto Canada

It's probably not a fair assessment, but my idea of New Jersey is a place full of dirty, obnoxious, uneducated, working class, big city people who talk funny, not to mention the mafia types. North New Jersey might be full of beautiful farm land.

These are not my opinions, just some stereotypes: guidos, tanorexics, bad angry drivers, and accents. Most of the NJ people I've met are not much different from New Yorkers.

I've been to New Jersey and I know it's a beautiful state but when I hear "New Jersey" my first thought is either organized crime or an SNL skit.
