Would you rather...?! This or that situation?

Question

This is a real situation that I have. I can't seem to convince my parents to see it my way. So I want to know - which would you rather do?

Situation 1
a.) Travel across the world to visit relatives you know very well in one country, then travel to another country and meet some cousins that you've never met, and don't speak your language. Go sight-seeing with them, go shopping, and visit a small amusement park.
b.) Travel to the first country and still visit those relatives you know well. Then skip the trip to the second country, and have a three-day getaway with your two best friends, on one of their very important birthdays, instead.


Okay and another one just for fun..
Situation 2
Would you rather...
a.) Be thrown into a hungry lion's den, with 20 full grown ravenous lions, with your hands tied behind your back.
b.) Be thrown into a venomous snake's cage, with 10 poisonous snakes, blindfolded.

As a parent I think I'd like to see you pick a). It would feel safer for me to know that you are among relatives that will look after you.



As a person I'd pick b). Staying with relatives isn't always fun and being with my friends on a birthday surely tops spending time with a cousin that I don't know.



Have you asked (and listened to) your parents about their reasoning? The best way to change someones opinion is to listen to and understand their opinion before you try to change it. Why is it important to them? What are their worries? What can you do to make them feel comfortable with your decision?



As for situation 2,

I'd pick a). I'm phobic when it comes to snakes and even if I survived the landing I'd die from fear once I knew it was snakes there. I figure that with the lions I still have a fighting chance, they might decide to eat one of their own ... who knows?

The answer to both would be B cause my BFFs r more important then some distant relitive that i would have to pay to go see. for the other qiestion, B would be a lot less painful.
