Is anyone getting too scared to live in the UK now?

With all the news of terrorism, gangs killing teenagers, drugs and the like, is anyone getting scared to live in the UK?

I love living in the UK, I am not scared.

55 people killed by terrorism in the last five years on UK soil. Approximately 3000 deaths caused by road traffic accidents EVERY year in the UK. Kinda puts it into perspective. It's the car you should be scared off, not a handful of terrorists.

As for teenagers killing one another, it is tragic, but again, the chances of being killed by a gun is about the same as being killed by a terrorist. As for drugs, stay away from them, and you'll have nothing to be scared off!

Hi Desentitising your dogs is a great idea, ignore the people who don't get that! Someone has already said that it's too late for this year and they're right. Have you heard from your vets about DAP? This company also sell a CD with sound effects, think the company is called Cefa, but if you ask your vet they will know and should be able to get you the CD. Again as the more sensible people have said, you need to basically (as hard as it is) ignore your dog, carry on with your normal routine. If you make a fuss of them it reinforces in them that they have something to be scared of. I have one dog who doesn't care but admittedly he's a bit thick! My other dog is scared and hides under the table, I want to reassure her but I ignore her and fortunately that's as bad as she gets. We have clients who come to the vets who's dogs just go ballistic, foaming at mouth and all sorts, the one thing I have noticed with these dogs is that the owners are fussers as well! Good luck and here's hoping that by next year the general public won't be able to buy fireworks, only properly held displays should have them! That way maybe fireworks won't be going off from August!

Don't be crazy - the UK is one of the safest countries to live in in the world. How safe do you think people in Iraq feel right now, or Darfur, or Afghanistan. Stop watching the news and your perception of how safe it is will change.

I wouldn't say so much scared, peed off at what this country has become and what it will become in the future because of the EU and our nanny state that would stand up to the EU we are just a dumping ground for immigrants which is where most of the crime comes from if they didnt let them in we wouldn't have half as much crime

Yes - it's a very scary and dangerous place to live and I would recommend that anyone thinking of coming to live here might want to try somewhere safer like the USA or Iraq.

yes i was reading the local advertiser yesterday and it said that one of the terrorist attacks from London is in durham prison just round the corner from me doing life and he got beaten up fellow inmate's and they pored boiling oil mixed with sugar all over him and he had been left scared for life. i was thinking who Care's compared to what he was doing.
