And if yes, why they have difficulties? I mean, I was in Italy, France, Poland and I experienced that old and young can't understand a bit of English. Well maybe some, but only the few ones.
If that is true, tell me at which age you start learning English in your scools?

I also don't speak English very well, but I understand it.

Many people have trouble learning english as adults because it's a very difficult language to learn. But anybody who starts early enough can learn it. The reason the people you ran into can't speak english is that they haven't studied it enough. That's all.

I'm Italian, I have no problem with English language, I consider French to be more difficult than English, for instance. English isn't taught very well in Italy, furthermore all American movies are dubbed in Italian. Dubbers change sometimes English names and italianize them, it's very annoying.

Even though I've never lived in an English speaking country, I am able to understand my favourite English or American rockstars' speeches. I read books written in English.

However, you've written ''sorry for my poor English'', and ''I also don't speak English very well, but I understand it''.

Have you ever thought you don't speak it very well and people don't get what you're saying?

Actually for everyone english is difficult except german and french, because this languages are similar.

In Poland we don't have money, so the goverment can't afford to teach english in the way which they are excepted to. Most people have privte lessons. I was learning english since I was 12, but school isn't a good place to learn. the group is not eager to learn something and teachers do not care

they speak better english that you do and by the way do you speak any other language...hmmmm ...if not maybe you should have your schools teach you a second language.. most of the time they just look at you because they don't want to talk to you anyway

yes, it is harder to learn English. I think it is because of all the verbs, possesive nouns, pronouns, adverbs, adjectives, and tenses that our language uses
