I said something really stupid during an interview for a research position and I'm so embarrassed because I said something stupid. I can't stop thinking about it! I have an exam but that's all I've been thinking about, so I can't study. I'm SO embarrassed. It was a pretty important interview too! ugh! Can anyone make me feel better...words of encouragement..anything. thanks so much

Its ok! Calm down and take a deep breath. It's only one interview and there will be other ones. As for the embarrassing part, just remember it's only embarrassing if you let it be. Just shake it off and think about all the people in the world who have no idea what the embarrassing thing you said was and then it doesn't really seem that bad. Good luck on your exam!!

Don't stress to much! That's what make you stand out in an interview!! Its okay to show that you are human instead of a robot answering questions. How you handled it is what counts.

OK That's enough punishment. Put it away for now - keep it until your own kids need a super funny story to console them from their own terrible goof! Done? Now watch a couple of Frazier's sitcoms and learn how to live with goofs.

Well I find that a big bowl of ice cream and a few hours spent watching soaps has a tendency to alleviate these kinds of situations.....Good luck hon xoxo

If it makes you feel any better, I say things off topic sometimes too. I don't know what you said, but no one is perfect. All you can do is learn from experience.
