Can anybody explain to me why marijuana is illegal and Alcohol isn't?

Its such bullshit. I mean how many people get killed a year because of Drunk Driving. How many fights in clubs and bars happen because of alcohol. I am guessing a hell of a lot more then people on weed. Please can someone, anyone explain this to me.

Remember that Alcohol used to be like Marijuana. The State banned it, and then people started smuggling it and making it in their own basements. As we know now, Alcohol is legal by state law.



Canada makes a 1500% profit off of medical marijuana. It is possible that in the later future that Marijuana will become a monopoly in the U.S. in a way that will keep drug traffikers from being able to keep a stable economy on it.



This will of course benefit our own economy, as that money will circulate back into our own government instead of illegal foreign drug trades.

And the government has a manner of controlling the distribution and tax on it. while they have not got a manner of controlling the distribution of marijuana so as that could no longer tax it. The government doesnt give a damn about your safety. How easy is it to make your own alcohol? Not very. Atleast not anything that isnt extremely disgusting. 99% of people who drink would rather just go to the store and buy alcohol, whether then try to make it themselves. How easy is it to grow your own weed? Extremely easy, because it is just that, a weed. If you grow your own and smoke it, how does that make the government any money? They cant tax you on something you grew yourself. However, if they make it illegal, and fine/arrest people every time they're caught with it, they clean up, and make loads of money. I guarantee you that's the only reason why alcohol is legal but weed isnt.

the government would make soo much money from taxing the legal sale of marijuana. It would also take a lot of crime of the streets. Billions of dollars are made each year from the black market sell of marijuana. we as a country are experiencing a marijuana prohibition as we did with alcohol and we are too preoccupied with the oil war to really focus and this issue.

The government doesn't control the distribution of marijuana and can't profit from making legal unless they were able to stop the private selling of it
