Many modern countries have minimum wages 2 or 3 times what the US does so those stuck on minimum wages there struggle. I have had friends who have visited US cities who talk of the large number of homeless people a problem most westernized countries have very little of. The US has a very poor social security system compared to many westernized countries, and those who are poor struggle there to get decent medical treatment unlike many other countries where decent medical treatment is nearly free. Then there is the number of shootings especially at schools there which is virtually unheard of in any other modern country. The US also has a massive prison population way higher per percentage of the population than any other country in the world which begs the question if life is so good there why must these people do so much crime.

I am sorry if you felt I have run down your country and I have heard that those who visit have enjoyed their holiday there but it seems the US is a great place to live as long as you aren't poor. Personally I am glad I live in Australia.

Many Americans claim they live in the luckiest country in the world but the fact is generally when world rankings come out the US does not do overly well. The US is a powerful country due to its large population and very large economy which does give it some clout in the world but the facts seem to be that it is the best country to live if you are financially secure. The US is proud to show off those who have lovely homes and big cars but seems to try and hide its shocking poverty levels. It depends. For some people, yeah, the USA is awesome. So is the UK, or Australia, or any rich developed country.

I'm Australian, but I like Russia, mostly because I like to bend the law a little, but I wouldn't permanently live there... or maybe I would.

See, your opinion on a country will depend on what you're used to and what your expectations are. Australia, for instance, has free healthcare. Yeah it comes from taxpayer's money, but at least you're not coughing up thousands over a broken ankle or whatever. Now, the US could be a great choice for you but, and this might seem a little childish, but if you're thinking of immigrating to a Western country, if I were you I'd do up a list of the pros and cons. I'm an unabashed criminal, so Russian and Central Asia are my favourite places, but if you're legit, then sure, go check out the USA and best of luck to you.

Just remember that no country is perfect.

As a child I always wanted to visit the USA and possibly live there. I believed I would love the country love the people and want to live there. After spending time in the USA I now know I do love the country but I don't like the americans and I would not like to live there. there is too much violence and racism and way too much ridiculous fanatical religion it would be unbearable.

The government is corrupt (like many) and the general attitude of most americans I met was not good. It's only friendly to tourists and not always that. The people have spoiled the USA. I'd love to go again for the country - which is beautiful - but not to stay.

Subjective. I'd say if you are well off financially and can live in a great area then your life is probably going to be better than anywhere else. If you are poor, then no...but this applies to all countries so I don't truly think it's not the greatest place but it's not the worse either as it is whatever you feel like you are best at. Me being in America, I've seen some bad and also some good and though I don't see myself living "the dream" here, it wouldn't matter for me because I'd probably would be in the same situation unless I land a job that pays well enough. Remember, all countries has there good things and their bad....and the ugly.

Also, Americans do get a bad rep but there are plenty of us that are good people and respectable. I use to hear nothing but bad things about Europeans but when I meet most of them, they are just as respectable and nice...of course there are a few that are rude, too.

Unfortunately the dilemma is that anyone who has never spent any time away from his country or area of living thinks his place is the best. I left the USA after I got out of the military for a European trip 36 years ago and never looked back. I have had a very interesting & rewarding job, married to the same European woman for over 38 years and will NEVER move back to America. Every 5 years I return only to confirm that it is not my place of preference anymore. Money is everything in the states and the cost of many services is astounding. Look at the cost of healthcare for both humans & animals! Over $2000 each for a simple broken leg. Goodbye the American way because there isn't one anymore. The dream is gone except if your an immigrant from a 3rd world country where nothing is worse. The average American has no choice but to bite the bullet & remain in his land of birth because he is so far in debt and despair that all he can do is exist.

Europe is now under the false impression that helping a nation of migrants will help them in a long term existence when in fact all it will do is to change the face of Europe into a bigger 3rd world nation of fanatic incompliant, unfaithful groups. As luck has it buy the time all of this turmoil comes to a head I will be long gone but the experience of watching it all unfold is a trip in itself. Get out if you can.

Dont see how America can be the best country in the world when there are about 14,000 homicides by firearms- something like 90 a day. Multiple-victim massacres now seem to occur on a weekly basis. You have a better chance of getting shot than being killed in a car accident. More seem to be killed by someone they know than a complete stranger. Healthcare? Expensive, non existent if you dont have employer coverage or cant afford the high premiums. The military defence budget and all your aircraft carriers costs more than 26 of US allies countries defence budgets COMBINED, and you still havent won a war since WWII. With the money you spend on weapons it could pay for more teachers, police and fire fighters.

Its probably a great country if you are white come from a middle class or upper middle class background, somehow were able to afford your $100,000 university education and you have a job. Poor people, minorities, single mothers, high school dropouts, the unemployed or the sick (including several hundred thousand brain traumatised veterans)- life is not so great for them. The money is in the hands of the extremely rich, the middle class as most people know it has been totally gutted out and I read somewhere that the average savings of an average middle class couple is about $2000 and some are one step away from foreclosure or losing their homes. There are over 2 million adults incarcerated in the US, roughly 1% of the US population. Imagine if you will a city the size of Denver with its population all locked up.

The commenter on here 'Lee', is just further proof that America has a lot of assholes living there. Every time this topic comes up, they puff their chests out and crow about how much better the US is than anywhere else, when the truth is, most Americans have spent their lives in America without going to any of these other countries that they put down.

Australia and New Zealand are beautiful, and the UK and Canada are probably better places to live. The people who say the US is the best are always American and just sound mean spirited and arrogant.

I'm from Canada. A lot of people seem to forget we're even on the map lol. I think it's a pretty awesome country. If free health care isn't enough, we have a lot of racial diversity and the majority of people I've met are super friendly. It's a great place (and getting better soon since Harper is leaving parliament hill)! Some people compare the USA and Canada a lot. They have similarities, but in my opinion Canada is just a bit of a better place to live in long term. Not saying the USA isn't great, but it's more of a place that I'd like to visit than live in.

Not really. The job market is horrible. Law enforcement is terrible at best. Children are out of control. Taxes are crazy.

It is not a good place to be white. We get blamed for everything. Political Correctness has ruined the place.

Most people who hate Americans live in the USA. It is funny how I escaped the hate by leaving.

There are only two things good about living in the USA:

1. People who reside in the USA pay the lowest retail prices in the world.

2. It is OK to marry outside your race in the USA.

My boss has to chose one of my colleagues to go to the USA for a week of training. Nobody wants to go. Not even me.

No, there are many places in the world that is best to live. Every place has its own uniqueness like weather, hill area, surrounding the water. I can't say that USA is the only best place to live in the world. Suppose the persons who live in the hot countries, they want to live in the cold countries. The desire is always opposite, i.e the human nature always willing to that what they don't have. I suggested to change the place after some time to enjoy the uniqueness of every place.
2015-10-25 23:33:54 UTC
Not really. Most Americans argue it is, but this is pure patriotism/nationalism. I always ask Americans who say that if they've ever lived any where else. The answer is always no. Fact is the statement is hard to answer - who can comment for every single country in the world??

I live in America and have lived in other countries. All have there good and bad points. America hits a negative when it comes to it's medical system (in terms of cost) and it's education (it's pretty low on the list of the western world), also it's crime is really high (those shoot outs in schools and malls are pretty much an American phenomenon). Morality is real low too. The drug problem is high. The life style here is really stressful and overly work orientated compared to other countries where there is more social and family time - you work to live as oppose to in America where you live to work. In England people get a month paid vacation a year, as oppose to a week here. I find life difficult here in that you have to drive everywhere and everyone lives so isolated. Also when I usually ask Easterns what they preferred about home they usually mention the maids. In America women are expected to do everything themselves. Freedom of speech is a bit of a joke, you definitely have to be diplomatic and politically correct here as oppose to England where people speak much more freely. Religious freedom is slowly becoming a joke with the increasing zealous intolerance and hate towards Muslims.

But America is a beautiful country in terms of landscape. The property is cheaper here than in any other country I've lived in, including the third world ones. And people are generally civil. It is very clean also.

I dont know about the adult life in the USA, but America is definitely the best place to live as a child. They give many freedom and opportunity for young people unlike my country where children are suppress by older people and provide no opportunity to become a better person or prepare to have a richer life. The USA have freedom of speech since you are born, have class for political debate and so on. In Japan it is ILLEGAL (ITS A CRIME!) for anyone under the age 20 to express political opinions during campaign. Also children are banned from public protest and demonstration. Violating this is punishable by prison service no longer then two years and or fine no more then 2000 dollars. USA is a child friendly country!

Everyone is different with different thinking. USA is the best place to live for some people and the UK is best place to live for others. These two countries are only examples of course and it could be any country in the world I could have identified as being the best place to live.

That is like saying that Earth is the best place to live in the Universe. Since Earth is the only place I've lived it would be hard to argue against it. On the other hand having seen certain parts of the US, some places are heaven and others are hell, just like any other part of the world. And no matter where you live, to live inside some people's heads will always be hell.

No. The need to profess your superiority is rooted in inferiority.

Underneath its shiny surface, the US is a very distressing place, littered with poverty, crime and depression. It has the highest rate of child poverty out of all developed countries, the highest incarceration rate in the world and consumes 2/3 of the world's antidepressants. Racism and bigotry along with rape and domestic violence are also rampant.

The notion that the US is the greatest country in the world is exactly what has corrupted the country. People became complacent and subsequently let the country go off the rails because they were too busy boasting about its greatness. Why change anything when you're told you're the best?
2015-10-25 13:10:23 UTC
Well, it certainly isn't the worst. I was born in England, but I moved to the US a couple of years ago, and for me, it's the weather. I think it depends on what state or city you live in. If you live in a city of poverty, take LA, for example. People on the sides of the streets everywhere. For those people, the US isn't the best place to live, but it is the only place where people are kind enough to accept the fact that they are living in poverty. And wars, terrorists. ISIS is burning up the US slowly, as much as we try to fight. It's getting scary, and some people don't feel safe anymore.

As I've never been there, I can't really argue, but I'd love to visit Australia or Ireland, because I think that that would probably be the best place to live.

Gosh, I've always wanted an Irish or Australian accent haha

I really don't know.

However, the state of California is overpopulated. I know this as a 4th generation Californian.

There is so much traffic on highways that were once traffic free, garbage and litter all along the highways, pollution, increased housing demand and skyrocketed rent/mortgage/taxes, filthy public bathrooms, more housing projects that can't be built fast enough for the increasing homeless population...it goes on and on.

Why? Because California is OVERPOLULATED. Was it always like this? No. What happened? People moving to California from other states due to California's nice weather and beaches, immigrating from other countries for the American "dream". Cities and towns in California have more population than the towns can sustain. Absolutely ridiculous.

In my view, the US is like that star quarterback who's past his peak. A few years ago, he was a handsome, untouchable champion that everyone admired, but he's now put on weight, lost some hair, developed troubles in his marriage, started hitting the bottle a bit too much, and just isn't what he used to be at the game. He's still widely admired and formidable, but other people have noticed how he's slowed down on the field and shake their heads at his problems. The quarterback, himself, however, is in complete denial that things aren't just as good as they used to be.

The US just doesn't dominate every category anymore. In terms of education, health care, cleanliness, modern infrastructure, public services, absence of crime, upward mobility, a functional political system, and a few other categories, other developed countries have us beat. Some of this is from our own decline, and some of it's from the fact that other countries have advanced faster than us at certain things. Our military can still lay waste to much of the rest of the world, if it wanted to, but that ability doesn't make any country a great place to live.

I think we're still a great nation, and provide a better life for most citizens than most other countries do, but this is clearly a time of crisis. A lot of things just aren't working for regular Americans, and the gap between the poor and the elites gets a little wider every year, with the former group getting a little bigger. We're spending way too much on our military and foreign wars (for what we're getting back) and aren't creating enough decent-paying jobs at home. The politicians, meanwhile, argue over things that most of the public doesn't care about, and are bribed to stay silent on the things it does. Nobody gives a crap about what happened in Benghazi -- they care about what Hillary or her eventual rival will do to ensure a decent future for their kids (if anything).

I have no regrets about being born here, though. I've always had the opportunity to pursue my interests as much as I've wanted to. And it's arguably been more interesting to be a citizen of a "big" country, which might have a lot more problems than a medium-sized Western European nation, but also has a lot more going on, more places to visit, and more diversity within its borders. I've liked other countries I've been to, as well -- they weren't the horrible places some ignorant Americans try to paint them as.

In my life USA blocked ALL education for me, but I was able to acquire this on my own efforts, even with most of learning life prior to computer age.

The oppressors could adopt more severe methods eventually though. We even hear about detention camps and martial law occasionally.

I lived in London, England all my life. No matter where I go nothing feels special as home does. So for me, the best place will always be the place I lived my childhood years and most wonderful memories in, which is my home city. England has amazing cities that I enjoy personally. I prefer holidays in a British countryside than going abroad

However, if speaking outside home. I would choose Switzerland for the land itself, just so beautiful and green. I would choose Republic Ireland for the company (yes, I love my Irish friends lol), Italy Rome for their history.

I would choose America over many other countries any day, such as many countries in South Asia (apart from Maldives) for obvious reasons (where I could have been born if my father did not migrate to UK in his younger years).

I would not go far as saying the best though, maybe for many especially those who are influenced by TV shows/movies (who would want to go thinking the life shown on TV is reality), or obsession with American music (thinking they will run in to their crush boyband or artist on the streets lol), or those who lives there would say it is the best, or those who are still hooked on the very old 'All American dreams' slogan.

Most definitely not! They don't have paid-for-by-taxes health care & the cost of health care there is astronomical, & much steeper than other first world countries, so sickness can easily lead in an instant to great poverty, &, the life long ill/disabled, especially born to ordinary working families, can end up irrevocably destitute. There's great inequality there between the richest & poorest, & a selfish, hostile & uncaring materialistic & competitive culture very much tends to be dominant. There's a very oppressive religious element. There is no paid maternity leave - unlike most (all?), first world countries such as Britain, & people can easily be dismissed from their jobs. There's much more gun crime & it's quite violent there comparatively speaking. There's much more intense racism against black people, I hear & sense, in the States than in Europe & NZ/Australia. The best country? One of the Scandinavian ones, or New Zealand. Britain, Ireland, Canada, Australia all much better!

I am an American and I have traveled a great deal. I happen to have many friends who have immigrated here and prefer the US very much more that where they are from.

I love to visit Europe, but greatly prefer living in the US. I think many could argue that the US is the best in the world, but most of the western democracies are good too, so people now have a choice of places to live that are good.

Like you I ask the same question. I have no complaints for my past life living in America, but nothing lasts forever and America is changing rapidly. I no longer feel safe here, and I am looking for and open for a way out before this country (which I believe will) goes up in flames. Thanks for posting this question, I'm enjoying these answers tremendously. Although I feel that not only this Country is in peril but the whole world, maybe there isn't a safe place to go. I think we are close to the end of the world as we have known it,

USA is one of the best places to live, although I have not been to very many other countries. It seems like alot of immigrants are trying to get into the USA. The best place to live depends on what is important to you. It's subjective. For some it's where your family and friends are and for some others it might be where the taxes are not as high. Depends on your motivations, attachments, culture, mental health, physical health etc.

USA is just one option. For me, as long as I am not completely alone, I'll make do. However best place for me? I haven't found that place yet.

Let's continue the search.

Its a great nation , a beautiful country no doubt about it.

However, its also the country that has incarcerated the highest number of young black males on earth - modern day slavery much ?

IS America, the BEST Country to LIVE IN ?

Yes and no - Yes because of how I opened my answer, No because there are other great nations to live in on Earth - but define what makes a nation 'great' ?

criteria will differ person to person.

for me, all i need is a fecking island - a small island, a paradise with surplus supply of fish, mountaneous deer and wild boar, lots of fresh fruit and plentiful supply of nut, grains leafy veg and exotic lentils ^_^

lol

such an island may not exist - but thats all i'd need.

The US has some serious problems - but it has many oppertunities for one to grasp at too.

My only qualm with living otu there ?

instable minds pumped to the max on medications and drugs , superficial mindfecks, guns and corrupt officers.

otherwise its most probably the land that was made for me, to live in lol

Aces should have migrated out to the rich suburbs of Los Angeles in the late 90s, but s**t happened and stalled those plans lol

great country - but not the best if you're a young black male from a ghetto, impovershed crime laden neighbourhood.

You're just another fecking Prision Stat walking.

Sad.

U.S.A is one of the best places to live in. One of the rights I love is the Freedom of Speech which means you can criticis anyone you want even the presidents. What I like the most about the U.S personally is the seasons, transportation, entertainment, lifestyle. Going to different state is like a different lifestyle. Some states has ridiculous laws, for example students who are caught kissing on school ground can be properly punished. But it all can change by the people if they vote for a change. The government is the people the people is you fool.

Im from America and I hate it I want to move to the UK or Canada. We seem to be failing and electing leaders that have no business being in office. There is so much racism that it's ripping us all apart from one another. Another problem is that our teens are becoming more and more stupid. I know this because I am a student in a high school. I hear kids saying "we should murder Obama" and "we should let the south rise again." And "we need to create another civil war to put the south back in power" which we all know would cause so many issues with racism and would cause national problems. Also Trump. Who has went bankrupt so many times and has none stop bullied other politicians over and over again. Including putting a female politicians phone number on national tv. We are election adults that act like children into office. Where is America going if this is what our teens (our future) and our politicians are doing to our nation. So no America is going no where.

I would definitively say no. The only reason I wouldn't want to live anywhere else is because this is where my friends, family, and livelihood are. It's such a large country too, you can't really generalize the whole nation. Maybe one person thinks New York is awful to live in, but would love North Dakota. Each state is drastically different both culturally and politically.

To some people opinion USA is the best place to live other others think USA isn't the best because of high crime rate
2015-10-25 15:54:12 UTC
No,it used to be in my opinion but its not anymore. It actually has the potential to become divided and no longer the united states. The government in this country is corrupt and is gaining more and more power over the american citizens. The liberals in america are part of the reason why the government is tyrannical.Liberal justices have illegally redefined marriage and also infringed on religious freedom. Many americans are being brainwashed to believe immoral lifestyles and behaviors are ok and should be condoned. The country is morally declining. The poverty rate is high and many people are homeless.Public transportation is terrible everywhere except for New York and parts of California.

Depends on what you're looking for in a country to live. It's not that safe, at least depending on where you live. The education and judicial system aren't that good, as you have to pay for post secondary schooling (if you don't have a scholarship, and even then someone else has to pay that off), and even then the education prior is notoriously bad and has a reputation for such around the world.

Only if you have money. Then it's got lots of shops and not canin fevered people.

But starting out? It's like walking to the moon if you are starting from scratch in America. It's much easier to start in Germany because then you have no college fee's. Getting in the hole a few hundred thousand makes it very difficult to live. Just so you can pay some retards who probably never had to work a day in their life "in charge".

I Live in America.. our society is sick, there are so many chemicals and pollutants here in everything. so many are sick. I write my senators every day and they spout the same bullshit in every response. this country has lost it's moral compass, the rich control everything, and the rest of us suffer. the indulgent ways of western culture are ruining our world. something about the U.S.A must change. Right now, the whole media is a distraction from what is really happening. Why do u think we constantly flaunt our military and wage wars all over the world? America's evil government will become just as Nazi Germany once was.

Canada is pretty ok? I mean there is no best place to live in the world, because that is an opinion answer. Everyones opinion aren't relatively the same. I live in Canada and love it here, but thats my opinion. USA isn't my forte but it still seems pretty good

It does depend on many factors, but in my opinion, No.

I live in Canada—it's quite similar to the USA, but I think Canada is the overall better place to live. USA has many opportunities and systems that I think are great, but it would be more a place I would vacation in.

Depends on your state, and the county within, if you're talking governmentally. MY state and MY country within are listed as having THE highest taxes in the country! Woo! Woo!

It's interesting to have read about Australia. Canada, too, has free health care, and the animals aren't so weird. Cities along the border would have a climate just like what I'm used to.

It depends on who is asking. If you are a criminal, Sweden would be the best place to live( because their jails are like Hotelz). If you like meeting people from all different places and moving around a lot, Britten is for you( because of what's going on with other countrys and their people migrating) if you have blonde hair/blue eyes....NEVER EVER go to turkey! Your best bet is either America or Britten . There are many more places to go over, but the fact is, there is no " best country" but if I had to choose, I would say Canada

It depends. Some people prefer the US and other prefer the UK or Australia or Europe. I live in europe and as a child I always wanted to live in the US and when I finally got the chance to travel there I realised that I'd rather stay in europe. I'm thinking about moving to the uk.

But like I said, everybody has their own opinion and is looking for different things.

No, its not I have lived in Florida for 6 months and Los Angeles for 2 months - there is a great divide between the richest and poorest. A lot of poverty, especially in LA. Also, it is normal to be in debt there with a flashy car on hire purchase, mortgage one can barely afford for a big house and healthcare costs are huge. People can be very image-conscious and are willing to be in huge amunts of debt just to have a really nice car and a big house. I am English from Sussex and most of my friends aren't in any debt at all and live within their means. Free healthcare fro the National Healt Service makes life much easier too. There is a lot of well-paid jobs to cover the extra cost of living compared to America and if you're willing to have a little less space and a more modest home, one can live comfortably here with ease. I love England. I am also half Australian (dual-citizenship) and have tried to live out there for 4 months. It is much easier to have a bigger place to stay with more space and a well-paid job and the people are friendly but for me no place is like home and England is the best. It's also rich in culture throughout the UK and I love to holiday in Scotland, Wales, Ireland and surfing in Cornwall. All easy to reach and cheap. Europe is very accessible with all its diversity of cultures there too.

The BEST PLACE? Always debatable. The BEST Standard of Life, absolutely. If I had the SAME

income and amenities somewhere else would suit me fine. Example; Patong Bay on Phuket

Thailand was "idyllic" when I was there in the early 1980's. My Navy ship anchored, I went on

deck and . . . NOTHING. there was truly NOTHING THERE! North and South jungle covered slopes

formed the bay; between the Andaman Sea fluttered onto golden sand of the beach lined with palm

trees and ONE building in sight!

, ,

, ,

The next morning nearly TWO HUNDRED WHORES had been flown down from Pattaya Beach

and PHUKET became Olangapo! (Now Yahoo >client< wants US Americans to RETIRE there?

We're NOT that stupid, Yahoo)

I suppose?

I would of said the UK, but men in that country can't even hold their children because of their feminized laws out there. I would of said Canada, but Canada has been feminized as well where women can commit crimes and get away with it with the double standards that men don't have the same rights as women there and get in deep doodoo. I would of said Russia, but Russia is owned by their own government which is like a tyrant king looking for taxes on it's people.

I would of said Africa, but their all dying there of diseases and crime there is overwhelming. I would of said Mexico, but it would be like Desperarado over there. I would say Asia, but they value women higher than men even if their evil and they have triads. I would say Japan, but it is hard to get a life out there without being a professional at something.

I would say the US, but the women run the show and men and women don't have the same rights, the only place left is Central America. That is the best

I think the United States is best known for the good living conditions and good nature sceneries. The government in the other hand is not so good when it comes to making decision about benefiting the people in our nation. We are one of the world's super powers when it comes to the military funding like Russia and China. It depends on how you look at the United States from your point of view.

Personally these days I think I would prefer to live in rural area of Ireland or Scotland, or maybe Canada. The US has become a very difficult place to live, there are people being murdered daily in most major cities and many of the smaller cities, gangs, drugs and other major crimes. The Health care system sucks, and Children are totally out of control.

Not if you are a college student or a poor person. America has an individualist outlook. It is masculine and focuses more on being self reliant than giving. In the Europe college is free and the people pay higher taxes, yet get so much more. America has freedom above many other nations, but that comes with a price.

No I believe Australia is the best place to live. Most cities in the top 5 best places to live are Australian cities and the government provides numerous incentives such as free healthcare and fortnightly payments to single parents. Plus the fact that gun laws are much stricter and our police aren t armed like soldiers. I recommend you search up the benefits of living here, they don t call it the lucky country for nothing.

USA definitely has it flaws but the perks of being an American citizen are great. No county is perfect but I believe Americans and others who have a lazy characristic find it disappointing because they realize they have to work, sometimes extremely hard for somethings. I believe if you're a hard working optimistic, any country can be great but as of now I do prefer my home, America.

You bet. USA is the best. I traveled abroad mostly Europe and I see big different The first time I was there somehow I was mentioning USA all the time in good way. way. Then my host turned to me and said "Mom do you know how many times you have mentioned USA.by comparing it to us". I finally said I was sorry and was not aware I was doing that. We are so lucky and very thankful for being from USA. Simple proof--Go to any US embassy in any country and see how many people in line trying to come to USA.

The best place to live is not a question to be answered by one person. The best place that I would consider is Canadia because it's safe, the people are cool and the government is stable. The United States of America is "free", BULLSHIT. I an American believe that the government is corrupt, we owe China crazy amount of money, the 1% doesn't pay the amount of taxes they should and Donald f***ing Trump is running for president. Maybe the most profitable country, but we have probably the highest percent of people living with diabetes, depression, and other health problems . Prob not the most healthy place to live. I THINK Finland was called the 'happiest' place to live, if that's what you mean by 'best'.
2015-10-27 09:56:40 UTC
I wouldn't say that it's the absolute best place, but it's certainly toward the top. It really depends on your socioeconomic status (or potential), race, and sex. Some countries are best for wealthy people, others for people of a certain race, and others are better if you're male or female. All of these factors are intertwined to determine your level of comfort in a country.

Well, obviously it depends. I live in Brazil, good weather, happy and lovely people, but everything is so expensive and the government doesn't apply the taxes that we pay correctly. I intend to move abroad in the next two years. Now im trying to choose where to go. Canada is beautiful, good health care, and good people, but to cold to me. I visited NZ and ive fallen in love, a quite and calm place where people respect each other, with good well fare, but to far from home, Australia is hotter and bigger but the exotic animals freaks me out. To me UK is a sad and gray place, altough it might be a great place to live. Switzerland is perfect, beautiful, secure, well located but people say they are boring. USA is a good place comparing to where im now, but to me Americans employees are overly explored even comparing to a 3th world country like Brazil. I would love to live in any of the nordic countries, but the language is the mainly problem to me

Here in UK during WW2 the Americans tried to enforce segregation but it was sneered at by the British. English girls wanted to be with Black GIs - who knew how to dance and had money and were fun to be with.

America has no VAT tax. Americans purchasing watches from U.S.-based Internet sites whose registered address is outside the purchaser's own state are not being charged sales tax by the vendor as far as I am aware. State governments have long recognized how much money they are losing in sales tax revenues because of the Internet, so things are beginning to shift: merchants are under increasing pressure to charge whatever tax might be required by the purchaser's state just as if the sale were taking place where the buyer lives. I buy my clothes, shoes, pants, handbags, watch and so on from online stores mainly. I have personally bought some from a store called iluxshop.co

They are beautiful and good quality Amazon is already doing this in cases where they maintain a physical presence--shipment center, other facility--in the purchaser's state. As for foreigners who make watch purchases in the U.S., they will be paying whatever sales tax may be in effect where they buy the watch, since there is no mechanism in place to recoup the tax as the foreign buyer is departing the country for home. if this last is incorrect, I welcome contradictory information.

NO Not by a long stretch. Contrary to what You are told there are better countries . I've lived in Europe and Canada and America and I feel lot safer in Europe and Canada than I do in the US.I have totally no guns in My home and I feel no need to have one. I don't know about that, I have always wanted to go to America, however whenever I tell Americans about my country (Australia) everyone tends to admit how great ours is in comparison...yet Australia isn't the best place either in my own opinion. simple answer is no. sure we have freedom but so do like 140 other different countries. truth is america probably hasnt been the best place to live in a very long time. you got other countries that are a free democracy that pay you to go to school, they pay for your housing while your in school, free medical care etc etc. so basicaly america is a great place to live, we do have alot of nice things about our country but as far as being the best place in the world to live.....i very very highly doubt it

It depends what you define as a good country. I personally believe that Finland, Sweden and Norway are the best countries to live in based on their low crime rates, social assistancy to the needy, education.... The list goes on but what most surprise me is the fact that they choose to treat their prisoners like human beings, no matter what crime they done. In their eyes rehabilitation is more important than punishment.

I have been in the USA all my life. Visited many other places and in far to many of those we wouldn't have the freedom to post here on YAHOO at all. So to answer you the USA is far from perfect, but with regard to personal FREEDOM it is the best (in spite of our freedoms gradually eroding as a result of various and sundry

regulations at all levels of govt). PEACE!

Yes. According to a survey conducted, Americans give lot of good reception and hospitality to those coming from other parts of the world to settle there (in America). They are thus liberal, magnanimous and broad minded according to my opinion.

Most of the answers provided above are correct.

Perspective, the grass is always greener on the other side, governance, ability to change, willingness to change, proverbs, as well as many more including happiness.

The only one that can answer this is you and as we do not have the fore ability of hindsight, one can only guess the answer.

Ever heard of the saying, "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." It means that things always seem better elsewhere, when they are out of reach, and that if we could reach them. Basically, the grass is brown where ever we go, and we just have to make the best out where we are (:

But to Americans who've travelled, and to the International Community, reality is a radically different matter.

Can this be for real?

(A nurse in Munich, Germany.

For all caring & loving people to read !

Yesterday, at the hospital we had a meeting about how the situation here and at the other Munich hospitals is unsustainable. Clinics cannot handle emergencies, so they are starting to send everything to the hospitals.

Many Muslims are refusing treatment by female staff and, we, women, are refusing to go among those animals, especially from Africa. Relations between the staff and migrants are going from bad to worse. Since last weekend, migrants going to the hospitals must be accompanied by police with K-9 units.

Many migrants have AIDS, syphilis, open TB and many exotic diseases that we, in Europe, do not know how to treat them. If they receive a prescription in the pharmacy, they learn they have to pay cash. This leads to unbelievable outbursts, especially when it is about drugs for the children. They abandon the children with pharmacy staff with the words: “So, cure them here yourselves!” So the police are not just guarding the clinics and hospitals, but also large pharmacies.

Truly we said openly: Where are all those who had welcomed in front of TV cameras, with signs at train stations?! Yes, for now, the border has been closed, but a million of them are already here and we will definitely not be able to get rid of them.

Until now, the number of unemployed in Germany was 2.2 million. Now it will be at least 3.5 million. Most of these people are completely unemployable. A bare minimum of them have any education. What is more, their women usually do not work at all. I estimate that one in ten is pregnant. Hundreds of thousands of them have brought along infants and little kids under six, many emaciated and neglected. If this continues and German re-opens its borders, I’m going home to the Czech Republic. Nobody can keep me here in this situation, not even double the salary than at home. I went to Germany, not to Africa or the Middle East.

Even the professor who heads our department told us how sad it makes him to see the cleaning woman, who for 800 Euros cleans every day for years, and then meets young men in the hallways who just wait with their hand outstretched, they want and expect everything for free, and when they don’t get it they throw a fit.

I really don’t need this! But I’m afraid that if I return, that at some point it will be the same in the Czech Republic. If the Germans, with their nature cannot handle this, there in Czechia it would be total chaos. Nobody who has not come in contact with them has no idea what kind of animals they are, especially the ones from Africa, and how Muslims act superior to our staff, regarding their religious accommodation.

For now, the local hospital staff has not come down with the diseases they brought here, but, with so many hundreds of patients every day – this is just a question of time.

In a hospital near the Rhine, migrants attacked the staff with knives after they had handed over an 8-month-old on the brink of death, which they had dragged across half of Europe for three months. The child died in two days, despite having received top care at one of the best pediatric clinics in Germany. The physician had to undergo surgery and two nurses are laid up in the ICU. Nobody has been punished.

The local press is forbidden to write about it, so we know about it through email. What would have happened to a German if he had stabbed a doctor and nurses with a knife? Or if he had flung his own syphilis-infected urine into a nurse’s face and so threatened her with infection? At a minimum he’d go straight to jail and later to court. With these people – so far, nothing has happened.

And so I ask, where are all those greeters and receivers from the train stations? Sitting pretty at home, enjoying their non-profits and looking forward to more trains and their next batch of cash from acting like greeters at the stations. If it were up to me I would round up all these greeters and bring them here first to our hospital’s emergency ward, as attendants. Then, into one building with the migrants so they can look after them there themselves, without armed police, without police dogs who today are in every hospital here in

Bavaria, and without medical help.

Is this "situation" coming to North America?
2015-10-27 23:15:38 UTC
Probably not since Americans are too self important.
