To me, true freedom is understanding that I will sacrifice extremes in my own world. I would give larger taxes, for example, to insure all kids can read - cause reading is at the core of freedom. same with health care, access to police.

WE cannot be free if our minds are captive to "How can I afford my son's operation on my 35,000 salary".

Freedom also comes at teh cost of hearing things you don't want to hear, and living with things you disagree with. Abortion rights, gay rights, christian rights, etc. If I am to be free to live my life as I want, then my gay neighbor must be free to marry, and my Christian brother must be free to worship and tell me all about his god (though i'll probably be memorizing french verbs in my head..haha).

The true cost of freedom is those soliders out there defending and fighting for their country. We pay them ultimate respect for protecting our freedom.

One's blood. Jesus gave his blood for us.
