Why is it that only the good die young?

Why is it that sick evil pricks like Castro, Saddam, Fred Phelps, Ariel Sharon and others tend to live to their ripe old ages while people like MLK, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Gandhi, and other great people tend to die before their time?

It's not that the good die young... It's just no one talks about the bad dying.

I'm sure the bad die at the same rate as the good... But not as many people care, giving the illusion that it is in fact the good that are dying at an alarming rate.

Though given the examples you gave you have - the bad - People of power that have the resources to take care of themselves through exploitation of others. While the "good" you mentioned abused themselves with drugs (hendrix, joplin, morrison) killed themselves (Cobain), were killed (MLK, Gandhi.)

BTW - Saddam was hung at age 69 - while Gandhi was killed at age 79.

See what I mean...

The good are missed - so we all feel that they are taken before their time. The bad... well... screw the bad.

Gandhi lived to be old! 1869-1948! Almost 90 years old! That IS a ripe old age! And Mother Theresa lived to a ripe old age and was a fantastic person! Janis Joplin did it to herself doing those stupid drugs! If she'd knock off that partying maybe she'd live to a ripe old age! Same with many of those other rock stars such as Jimi Hendrix. Jim Morrison they speak of as being a self destructive person. Maybe the sick evil pricks you mentioned are a little smarter than those you call good. Plenty of evil ones die young, (like Bonnie Parker (23) and Clyde Barrow (25)! Hitler only made it to 56 years old!) and good ones live to a ripe old age! It just depends on what you look at.

I could give you the answer you would want to hear " Man it's so unfair, Good people should live longer"... but... I am cold as ice. Here we go.

Your ignorant. what an unjustifiable claim. Btw gandhi is old. Your basing your facts off people who were famous and admired. Hell.. some nazis(and neo nazis) admire(d) Hitler. To put this comment on defrost.. please ask a good detailed question, and you should receive good detailed answers.

Being good or bad doesn't mean anything, but if this gets you down you should see it this way: they are moving on to a better place than this world (which is a big mess right now).

While I wouldn't say all of those people are good and evil ,

I think its so that they have less time to do wrong by god if you aren't an athiest or anything

You can cherry pick any list you want and exactly reverse this phenomenon. Basically, being good or bad does not correlate at all with dying old or young.

First off... Gandhi was old man.

Second, evil kill the good. If good killed the evil, there would be no good.
