Why do people (mostly Christians) call paganism idol worship?

I've heard this lots of times that it's idol worship from the devil. Now for whatever reason, I can't find the idol I'm worshiping. haha. No but seriously, are they that ignorant?

Paganism by definition is the worship of false god(s), that is, the worship of anyone or anything other than the one true God. Worship of nothing is simply atheism.

dogma of Christianity=There is only one god, all others are false idols

paganism=/=dogma

therefore, paganism=idolatry
