I have a feeling the world views us like that because of the things we show on tv and movies and commercial and pop culture.

If you think of it like this, look at pop culture right now. We are now showing commercials where a girl has an orgasm in the shower and they are selling a shampoo. They have ads with a shirtless guy in shorts standing in the beach and they are selling clothes.

In Abercrombie and Fitch there's a shirtless guy greeting you. I have to add this to that idea, there was this live improv group that went into an Abercrombie and fitch store completely shirtless and the awesome thing was that these guys were equipped with the most awesome beer bellies and love handles ever grace through the abercrombie and fitch store (haha) and those guys were quickly removed from the store. I say free advertising but then again maybe that's why I couldn't get into advertising (great ideas that some people disagree are).

Aside from that you've heard "sex sells" many times and yet there are other countries who wouldn't dare say that. It's our society that has made the world view us like that.

I'm not saying it's wrong. I'm not judging anybody I say to each his own as long as they don't try to hurt me. I'm only saying that it's why we're seen as so sexual. I must say though we aren't (haha) and it's been proven actually. it's only the way we are portrayed by pop culture and our society.

Like any other person in any part of the world, each British male is an individual person with individual preferences. Some will like you. Some will not. I have British friends and have travelled in the U.K. (I'm an American girl too). Yes, I attracted male attention, but I think a lot of that has to do with natural curiosity when hearing someone with a different accent. I have always had good experiences travelling there. As long as you are polite and treat others as you would like to be treated, and remember basic polite phrases like "please" and "thank you," you'll do just fine. I hope you have a wonderful study abroad year. I did a study abroad program a few years ago, and it was one of the most enriching experiences of my life.

Whistling and taunting does not imply that your easy, there just trying to mess around with you since your American. They are all under the idea that American women have no shame in flaunting their goods and such. They have a shallow perception about American women and America in general, and their British so yea.

Because when they watch American movies and television they see sluts doing whorish things. Naturally, they would think they are easy. Especially when they come here, go to the downtown night clubs and see normal girls imitating the behavior and prostitute-like actions. It's like their assumptions are confirmed.

Cause they are. Sex is not a thing for married couples in north america. Its Socially excepted. AS such it does not take too much work to get an American girl into the sack. Some sure have some dignity but a lot do not. Sorry but its true

They didn't know that you were American from the way you dressed. They whistle at all girls like that.

Because, and I am sorry to say, they are! I am from South America and we think the same thing. There, the three date rule does not exist. It takes months! And people don;t have abusive relationships there either. Everyone here hates eachother after they break up... WHY can't you guys stay friends?

well, it can't be helped because the image of american girls is like that in their mind, in asia the same thing goes too, its just a problem of culture.
