My grandfather and my father smoked a pipe....they gave up cigarettes and cigars, but needed something, so bought pipes...Im talking about back in 1970's.

I loved the smell of the pipe tobacco, but often the pipes werent lit, they used to just keep them in their mouth so they couldnt put a cigarette in. Hundreds of people smoked pipes in the 1940's and 1950's in the UK, though it started to go out of fashion later.

I dont know anyone who smokes a pipe today..

i used to. it was pretty awesome. i should start again. the only thing is that if you smoke a pipe like you're supposed to then it's way less bad for you than cigarettes. it's more about the taste and the style then the nicotine high. but if you're a cigarette addict then you suck down pipe smoke and hold it in then it's way worse for you than cigarettes.



anyway, me at age 20 or so is who it is that smokes a pipe. it's fun and awesome and chicks dig it. yeah, imma go buy a pipe tomorrow. thanks, you drug pusher you.



ps: never smoke the green herb out of a tobacco pipe. i knew some people who did that - it's so bad form. and inefficient. just don't do it.

I don't know them personally, but my mom goes to a Reformed Presbyterian church where they frown on anything 'modern' and they love Puritan, medieval, etc things.



Well many, many of the men there smoke tobacco pipes. The pastor does also. The men of the church actually all get together for social pipe-smoking activities.



But the women aren't allowed to, because of the type of sub-culture this is. That would be sinful and unwomanly for a female to smoke a pipe ;)



I don't remember what it smells like...
