Why people prefer male child? It is not only in India but in several part of the world?

In almost every country, people prefer to have a son rather than having a daughter. Almost everywhere, birth of a son is celebrated with great festivity. Even in ancient times, kings and able people perform Putreshti Yagya with a desire for a son. Our ancient scriptures abound with scores of such examples.

There are religious, social as well as economic reasons behind the desire of a son. Right from the moment of birth, a person is burdened with three kinds of debts. These are debts due for the gods, debts due for the sages and debts due for the father. One can easily free himself from his debts, which are due for the gods and for the sages. But to be free from the debts due for the father, one must have a son, preferably a physical son.

A shloka in Sanskrit says - PUM NARKAM TATASTRAAYATE ITI PUTRAH

Firstly there is some science and some cheap thoughts both.



Secondly, yes there is difference in a boy and a girl, and i soul simply for fun does not get manifested as one of these. There need to be a reason and there need to be a difference.



Now coming at the disrespect and bad treatment, its a shame on mankind. But we are imperfect by our very nature, if we increase human values all other values of all other system automatically increases.



remember ignorance can be fought only with the weapon of truth and knowledge of this truth.



a female soul, being manifested is of more kala's than a male soul, because of its service attitude. it is more ready to be an enjoyed than a male manifestation.



and being more near to reality hatred in this unreal world is more.



when something is more true, all those things which are less true, until they reach that level of true nature, they will hate this truth for sure.



on earth it may be as female being dominated by male, and in other planets in other ways.



also with more cleanliness comes the heavy load of getting unclean, it is more easy for kaam beeja to execute in females, though males seem to wander around for sex always.



so it is a very complex topic, we cannot discuss in this small scope, but Dis respecting etc is an act of ignorance, females are gifted with special potential of housing soul, till sharira is ready for delivery in this world, they as part of prakriti , serve purusha by housing him in the macro scale, again as I told they are more ready for service and acceptance.





So they should be treated with love and respect, as divine manifestations of prakriti and not as a toy of sex , as they are depicted today in media etc. they should be respected for there capability and gift of being a mother.



They should be welcome in the family. with great respect , love and gratitude for the lord.



and as far as those things of hell, when son performs last right what happens, may be more good krama is generated is got when a father performs marriage of his daughter ans settles her life.



It is said that getting ones daughter married and allowing her to become a mother, in accordance with Dharma, is a great punya.

Women should be ashamed of when they themselves want only a male child.



Women are the one's who undergo many problems when it comes to moral conduct.Though man & a woman should have equal moral conducts.The society is not much bothered about a male person.The affected one is the female.



If a woman carries an illegal child the man escapes & the woman is the one who faces all kinds of problems.She thinks it to be very difficult fo bring a child in this male dominated society.



In olden times we see that women were given equal rights in all phases & they weren't considered inferior to a man.Might be in a certain period men started worrying about the safety of women & they tried to keep them inside their homes.



That must be the turning point when they were considered as a possession of man, which has now completely changed the women's life.The attitude of men towards women changed then on.Still it is only a male dominating society.So long this exists people will only want a male child.



Only after all these comes the religious & economic reasons.My Guru used to say that vedas or scriptures were written by a man.So they write that they are superior to women.This thinking must have come only when they had really found that women are trully superior to man. In order to change this they might have treated women in a different way.



I have heard people saying that when a girl is born it is Goddess Lakshmi.Still the Lakshmi is treated as though she is a devil in the family.Why this is so is not only a ? but it is !.

Well Im pregnant and I myself wanted a boy over a girl...And that was because in society today rasing a girl is sooo hard. I have younger females in my family and they are just so wild. a son carries on the family name for starts. and regarding your bible you are correct. however, without the birth of daughters there would be no sons. in the bible the man had to pay a a valuable fee to get a woman. he had to work for the father of the bride for 7yrs. as the daughter was very valuable. she performed many tasks. cook,clean,sewing,etc,etc. without going into the big words which i could I'm making this simple for all.
