Being a black woman, I don't think my attitude is any worse than any other female.

Most people do because they see the ones who stick out. Just like most people think gay men are limp-wristed and effeminate. I'm gay and not that way at all. I've renovated two houses, am 6'4" and have been with a very butch man for the past 12 years.

FYI, my best friend is a black woman and she is the nicest person I have ever met. I also work with 6 black women and of the entire staff, they are the nicest - well one is kind of a wench when she gets stressed - but they don't have an attitude at all.

Yes I do believe that a lot of "People" feel that Black American Women have attitudes, Now that is because some of them do not understand the way of life for a Black woman in America and then there are those who like to stereo type black woman period.

I am a Sister of Color, and the thing about it is that sometimes people do not understand that it's not an attitude, it's being strong and independent.

Sometimes we have to raise all of our children without a strong male around, and it's hard to be all laid back and so called understanding.

If we let people over run us then where do that get you?

If I were you I would not care how others perceive you, because they do not know you, I will stay attitude down as long as I do what is needed for me and my family, and to get where I need to be in Life....( =

Most people DO think black wmen have "attitudes."

Most black MEN I know think black women have an attitude! I'm not joking.

I'll make a deal with you. Get some of your girlfriends together on a three day weekend and I'll do my seminar on how to keep your soul alive in the rat race. You're telling me there are no significant attitudes and no one will erupt -- but-- a black graduate of the seminar has told me black women will NEVER go through the three days. I can travel with this seminar. Who's right? Either my graduate is wrong or you are. You can reach me thru 360 or urbancoyotesfounder@yahoo.com

I've known some with attitude and some without.

Same goes for woman of other groups - throw in men also. And don't forget kids for after all "attitude" is a childish act, has nothing to do with ethnicity.

I will say what some people call attitude is nothing to be proud of. It can be rather unpleasant.

Being self-confident & having attitude are two different things entirely. Some adults seem to confuse these.

Honestly I don't really know the answer to that, because I am not most people. But I can give an opinion. I don't think so. A woman is a woman and we are all sisters and we should think like that. We all bleed red when cut and cry when we are hurt. But there are cultural differences without a doubt and thats good, differences are what make life fun. She should be proud of her heritage and not use the past as an excuse for hostility and dropping out. I see too much of that. We all have to work hard to make it these days.

I can't speak for everyone but I can speak for myself. No, I don't think all black women have attitudes. I'm a caucasian woman and I don't think race has anything to do with whether someone has a good or bad attitude. I have a seriously crappy attitude some days and I hope no one judges me based on my race! I'm just a person like everyone else.

I don't look at a black woman and think that she must have an attitude. Since I am the queen of attitude, I actually assume that most people are nicer than I am.

I don't think all black women have attitudes. I work with a couple of black women who are as gregarious and fun-loving -- and attractive -- as any woman. I will say that some black women have nasty as heck attitudes, even when you are nice to them. Yes, some white women (and men) have bad attitudes, too, but the nasty black women take the cake.

I'm a white woman and NO I don't think all black women have attitudes. I think stereotypes hurts everyone! There are all types of people in every race.

Unintelligent people do, All races have fiesty women. Not just Blacks,Spanish ladies can be fiesty(and i don't at all mean this in a bad way :), I have Asian friends who some would say have an "attitude" , it is on an individual basis. Sometimes I have to be aggressive to get what i deserve, but i don't walk with that aggression 24 hrs a day

That's kinda funny you say that, my 9 yr old told me today that a friend of hers told her that most black women are mean, have bad attitudes and are very bossy and loud. She wanted to know if this was true. I told her NO, That could be any woman, doesn't matter what nationality you are and black women are just as nice a other women. She just smiled and said good.

Not all black women do, but many of them that I have met and had to work with do and because of the p.c. world we live in and trying hard not to appear as racist, I would put up with a whole lot more from a black woman than a white one.

I agree with you saying no worse than anyone else. It depends on the individual. That is a stereotye to keep black women in line. We have to stay on our toes. Of course not all people act in this way, but there are a lot of people that have developed that thought process.

Most people do think that black women have a bad attitude because we come from a different background from any other race of women they know that we don't take no **** from nobody that's why most people think that all black women have nasty attitude.

I'm a white guy...The way black women are perceived in talk shows, Television, Radio, and Films they do seem bitchy..Some younger black women i meet seem to be bitchy also..But ive met a lot of younger black women who have better attitudes then most white girls i meet...So, i would say no, not all black women have attitudes...

I don't think that. Just like I don't think that all white women are whimps, and I don't think that all black men are in a gang and not all white men are CEOs, there are some cases of all of those, but not a majority and certainly not all. People thinking that probably stems from how black women tend to be portrayed in movies and the media.

Personally, I'm a cool person, but I believe that most white women and black men think that we do have attitudes; and, I'm not being racist or a hater, but I also think that's the reason so many of them date each other.

Honey, we all got tudes. Some are just stronger than others. And where we choose to display them makes a difference also. I think the media tends to portray black women in an unfavorable light sometimes and many prejudices are based on what is seen on TV. (Unfortunately.)

Hmmm....The lower class, yes! The upper class seems to carry themeselves alot different - not as loud, not as ignorant, dont think they can bare the fat and it look sexy attitude.. I have come across many races that this is the case too so noo its not a black thing its more of a class thing! Just an opinion everyones got one!

look every1 has there way of attitudes. All blacks can act black ( which is ghetto and thugged and angry). Cubans can act cuban ( which is fukn some1 up 4 no reason, yellin and spittin in ur face, and having a fighting voice when talkin 2 people.

All rednecks can act redneck which is running u over and killin u or shooting u 4 no reason, and callin u racist names)

I agree with you for the most part all chicks can grind your nerves sometime or another, i usually hear that coming out of black men though, that u ladies r much tougher on your men....but it is all in fun, always in stand up...Cedric, Steve etc..

i didnt realize people took it so seriously

2006-07-06 17:41:36 UTC
it's not seriously...white chicks can have worse attitudes...they just don't show it...lol

some of my best friends are black..they're awesome, but their attitudes aren't any worse than mine...so don't worry about it...i mean we're all human...we're just different colors and i don't see why that's such a big deal...i actually think black people are cooler than white people...i can't stand seeing people rag on black people because of their color..it drives me crazy...but gurl, don't worry about it, you're cool the way you are...people just show their attitudes differently

I don't think so, but more often than not, I run across the "typical" black attitude. I HAVE run across others who have been really quiet & shy, but those seem to be in the minority (from my own personal opinion).

Hope I helped. :)

Unfortunately, as women of color we get Black Balled, alot.

NOPE.. have several dear friends that are of all ethnic backgrounds. ..sorry black white brown yellow red... its just the more flamboyant gals who cause more noise therefore drawing more attention. Its nothing to do with color and its all about their lack of respect for themselves and others around them.
