Why do they hate us so much??

America is violently "independent", inanely litigious and quarrelsome, solipsistically provincial, and fatuously ignorant - this nation of video clips and sound bites, the United States, is often perceived as trying to impose its narcissistic pseudo-culture upon a world exhausted by wars hot and cold and corrupted by vacuous materialism.

Recent accounting scandals, crumbling markets, political scams, technological setbacks, and rising social tensions have revealed how rotten and inherently contradictory the US edifice is and how concerned are Americans with appearances rather than substance.

To religious fundamentalists, America is the Great Satan, a latter-day Sodom and Gomorrah, a cesspool of immorality and spiritual decay. To many International liberals, the United states is a throwback to darker ages of religious zealotry, pernicious bigotry, virulent nationalism, and the capricious misrule of the mighty.

They hate us so much because we have yet to turn our backs on Israel. While I would agree that America doesn't have the best answers for everything, we do a lot of good in the world that everyone seems to forget. Perhaps the next time there is an effort at ethnic cleansing, such as what went on in what was Yugoslavia, we should just stay out of it. If it should be the Moslem's versus whomever, and the Moslem's are getting the snot beat out of them, which basically was happening then, we should just look the other way and let what happens, happen. Did we get any thanks from the Moslem's for helping their brothers there, no, we got the twin towers bombed. How about the tidal wave that wiped out all of those villages, we sent aid to them. We spent our time and money to help out a thankless people that believe that Allah is a god that should be worshiped and obeyed. Yet the great Satan came and helped them. And what thanks did we get for that? Zip, none, nadah, zero. Give to us America, help us out, but then let us make war on you because our religion says we should kill anyone who disagrees with us. I have an idea, why not America just assemble a lot of neutron warheads, drop them on everyone who has accepted aid from us, and then turns and rends us. I think that would be fair. While America has it's faults, let's see, in the Muslim countries, whether they admit it or not, there is news that AIDS is epidemic. Hm-m-m-m, America is the great Satan, so vile it should be destroyed, but one of our greatest haters has an epidemic of AIDS that is loose. Isn't AIDS a sign of what might be said to be gross immorality? Perhaps these other countries that cry boo against America need to clean up their own acts before they start looking at others to criticize. Since they won't. hen perhaps America should just cleanse their countries for them with a few Neutron warheads. That would be maximum animal kill, minimum building damage, very little fall out, if any.

I agree with some of your assessments and empathize with your frustration, but there is hope for the U.S.A. (2 Chronicles 7:14)!



There are also international flights that can take you to "better" countries if you think they are so much greater than the United States of America. They fly out daily. You could also cross this country's Northern and Southern borders to seek "refuge".



I could be wrong, but I don't think you'll be leaving us any time soon. You wouldn't like what many governments would do to you and your family for speaking your mind.
