Can I have mail forwarded to a specific post office so that I can then go pick it up? If not, what should I do?

Yes, this is very simple. Call the post office where you are going to move to and ask to speak with the Post Master. He or she will tell you exactly what to do so that all of your mail gets forwarded. Before you actually move, you will be able to have all of your mail forwarded to General Delivery. That is what a friend of mine did and he did not have one problem.

Yes. You can rent a post office box and have it forwarded to there. If it's a small town then the post office may give you a general delivery address to give ppl and to have your mail forwarded to. Go to the post office in the city you are moving to (or call them) and tell them your situation.

You can have a PO Box opened and have mail forwarded there. Otherwise, just file a change of address form with the Post Office with your new address and adjust the mailings as they come in.

You can rent a post office box at the Post Office and forward your mail there. Alternately, you can rent a private box at a number of businesses. (The UPS Stores usually do this.)

Make a couple phone calls and see who's cheaper and easier to work with. (It might be a little trcky because generally mail handling has a lot of laws around it and they'll need you ID. Hopefully, you can accomplish that via fax.)

Call your local post office and you could either forward it to a relatives place that you live close to in your city or you could rent a post office box for a month and pick up your mail there.

I live in Canada and I would think that you could do that.

Here's the website for the U.S. Postal Services.

If each of 'em have been actual, i might have $a hundred million trouble-free :/ Too undesirable it is pretend!

Done this a few times...Have your mail sent to your name, General Delivery, town, zip code. Of course, this will only work if you know the general area where you will be - also, I would check with that PO to make sure they will accept Gen. Delivery mail and for how long.

Another way would be to find UPS store (Mail Boxes, etc formally) in the area where you are going and call them to see if they would rent you a Box for a month or so??

Good luck!!

Yes, especially in smaller town post offices.

In recent years I have had my mail held at the front counter up to as much as I think six or eight weeks "without" the need to purchase a PO Box #

The town that I was in was Marion, SC. They were very nice and accommodating. Most people in South Carolina are very nice!

Sure. The post office in your new state can open a box for you. You'll need to contact them and they can set it up before you arrive this way you won't miss any mail.

if you have no address where you can forward it, you'll have to put a hold on it till you find an address. Call your local Post Office to do this...

Have it forwarded to a friend or family member where you are moving, or arrange for it to be forwarded to the school or employer you are moving there for.
