Question:
Why can't Men multitask?

I've been doing loans for the past 4 yrs and i still haven’t worked with one guy that can help a customer on the phone while taking a payment and starting another loan. Plus in the office I work in now, their is another department and its check cashing and other services, well, its all men and they take forever with one transaction, and I always see that they could be doing at least one other thing while they are waiting for their copy to come out...but NO, they just stand their until the copy is done.
I don't mean to offend anyone, and am sure that their is that group of men that could probably multitask better than i can, but i just haven’t met you yet.

Supposedly according to physiological based gender studies, women are able to multitask since they raised kids. (i.e. a woman who couldn't multi task would have their babies eaten by wolves, poisoned by toxic food etc. and wouldn't be able to pass on her genes) Men only hunted. It's not as multi task oriented as spending time with kids.

You see, it's all about how you manage your time, prioritize your duties, and be able to navigate through workflow. Communication is quite important too. The other possibility is lack of experience, and/or training. I would suggest bring this to a supervisor as an opportunity for team building and/or training functionality. Being able to multi-task is important, and most of all making sure that the job is the right fit for the individual as well!

Good luck!

mostly, its a real difference in brains of men and women.

Women nest, cared for babies, ground corn, chatting, etc. Men hunted mostly, had to be quiet, focused on catching the enemy or dinner.

Men focus better in eneral I think, women multitask better. In general.

I firmly believe that the world-class multi-taskers are those who have spent a year or three at home with four children. Most of those are women. ;-)

unfortunately it is a known fact that men are unable to multi-task...probably because their brains are thinking the 20second thoughts they get each and everyday that takes all their brain power
