umm im a little wowed by the 2 negative comments.I would totally do it, and what does it do - i think it is important to show compassion even in the simplest actions when something so aweful happens. I think it is positive energy and a statement that your heart goes out to those families. wow. and as for the military - im sorry but correct me if im wrong but was there a draft that i missed! if you go into the military dont you kind of know that you might be doing some killing or getting killed. Uhh i think the government knows that too thats why they try to bribe you so hard with free cab rides and discounts and tuition reimbursment and superman commercials. dont get me twisted i am glad that some people have the heart to be willing to fight for their country but i think this situation is a little different - ps. i have a brother who just came home from Iraq and i have shown compassion for the situation in iraq as well but why would that prevent me from doing it for the innocent students in virginia???
pete : umm thats alot of flowers - i dont think a card from hallmark for someone i didnt know is heartfelt or that they want to have a garden for a house.I know the school didnt die but that could have happened at any college and you cant ignore the circumstances - have you noticed that alot of them are doing the hokie love comments. - i dunno you have a connection to your school- and as antisocial as i was i still got mad love for my school and i think that sporting the colors are a more honest -more widespread way for people to say im thinking about what happened and my heart goes out to all the students that were lost or could have been lost and because the students passed cant be comforted by this cuz they arent here- the loved ones are comforted indirectly.

PLEASE explain how wearing the school colors shows SUPPORT to the victims families? You really want to support the families? How about sending them flowers, cards or money. Something tangable that they can actually use. People died, not the school.
I understand that Danielle. It just annoys me that people think that support is mostly a frame of mind, emotion or just wearing something. It's like the war. All I see are yellow ribbon magnets on cars and these people brag about how they support our troops. Being a former Marine I KNOW our troops dont give a damn about ribbon magnets. If people really supported them, they would send care packages, petition congress, protest etc.
These families lost sons, daughters, brothers and sisters. All we have lost is a few tears. By saying that would be alot of flowers shows that your compassion isn't worth much of your time or effort. But that's just my opinion and I could be wrong.

I want to. Im gunna ask my boss at work if I can wear a maroon undershirt at work. I don't have a plain orange shirt, but I do have a lot of maroon stuff, so Ill try to wear them.
Mike, we're not wearing it to remember the killer, we want to wear it to honour the innocent people that were killed

I really mourned when I heard about the news of VT. And until now I cant believe it happened. But I will not wear the VT color, in our country the color orange and marroon are intended for happiness. The color of mourning is black
