Why do companies pay supervisors and managers for doing nothing but watching everyone else work?

The people who WORK are the employees who earn $8.00 per hour doing the actual WORK that makes the company function.

The supervisors make $10.00 per hour to watch all the $8.00 per hour people working but they rarely do anything other than WATCH work being done and walk around with a clipboard.

The managers make $25,000 a year salary with benefits to sit in their office all day and perhaps once or twice come out to take a 10 min walk through the workplace to watch the supervisors watching the workers.

Why do companies do this? Why pay the people who do the LEAST WORK the MOST MONEY?

You have to see what the people on TOP of the managers make!

Humans have fallen under a piramid effect of greed.

The only way rich people exist is at the cost of the bottom of the piramid!

All the workers that earn nothing compared to the few on top of the piramid!!!!

Well what most people don't see is all the BS that supervisors and managers have to go through. yeah they aren't out there turning wrenches and making stuff, but they are the ones who get in trouble if the quota isn't met. They have to fill out all the $8.00 an hour people's evaluations. they have to deal with the big bosses who always want the work to get done better and faster with less $8 people. The farther up the chain you go, the worse it gets. They don't get paid for what they do, they get paid for what they have to put up with. I know several people who used to be supervisors here where I work that stepped down to the lower jobs because they were tired of dealing with all the BS of being a supervisor.

Every step up you make, the more BS you have to deal with, and the more stressful it all gets. Those $8 people just get to show up, turn their wrench for however long and go home. The Supervisors have to show up early, be there all day, and then leave late (some only come in early or leave late, not both).

That's why they get paid more.

You work for a cheap company. I would not even show up for work. For 25,000 a year as a employee. But supervisors have a associates degree. so they can write things in terms a managers can understand. So he has to do less. And rewrite it. To send his reports to headquarters. Were once a week they can meet for a few hours and talk about the problems you are causing them. Before having there tax free meal and golf game. Being bilingual is the way to make money. One I need to speak to the hired help. So they understand. Next I need to speak to the manager so he understands. Next I need to speak to our lab people so they understand, then the boss over all trained in Business management who knows nothing so he understands. So something can be done. Speaking 4 or 5 languages pays 100k a year to stand around and give advice to other people. And communication skills are the way to do it. This is the importance of a education. Not to do any thing. But be able to talk to all about what you are not going to do. So that they can do it. For less. and save money for profits.

I don't know what type of company your husband works for but I'm sure there is some sort of corporate office you can call. In most cases you can even do this anonymously. If several people complain about this supervisor he will get fired eventually.

Because if someone is a supervisor, they've either done what you do already, and paid their dues. or they got education, and paid their dues that way. Either way, they have qualifications you don't.
