well, i come from india....(don't c me as someone dark skinned here, my roots aren't indian!!)
i have been to aussie land for a visit.. with all the cases of "discrimination" going on in aussie even back then, against the indians, u might think im gonna say everything negative abt ur country.. but for real, I LOVE AUSTRALIA...the aborigines kinda made me feel provoked, but only some of them..they kinda made me feel scared.. 2yrs back when i visited the country only as an 18year old, i never felt unwelcomed.. while seeing perth wih my sis, melbourne with friends and gold coast...i had explored sydney all by myself..i rem how the boat scheduled at 4pm, left for the ferry on time, from circular quay to darling harbour..i rem there were like 4stops in between n i wasn't aware tht darling harbour was the last stop..so i used to come down from the upper deck everytime thr was a stop, thinking tht it is now darling harbour, until the guy smiled n politely told me its gonna come last so i need not keep coming until last..oops hehe..n then a lil kid knew im a tourist in taronga zoo n he showed me some rubber snake saying, "meet snakeeyyy" n i freaked out coz i thot it was real...n thn his dad laughs and stop his kid n says something ( i really did understand tht time lol, bt i nodded)..i like the accent though..
the people, the food...everything...some youngsters out thr r kinda running into wrong things a bit, but i guess tht happens everywhere now.. the only time i ate fish was in aussie..."fish n chips"...
the worst thing was when i proudly showed my ticket on my way to some station n the TC told me i wasn't in the right train n the ticket fare was not correct.. i told him i wasn't aware..on knowin im a dumb tourist, he told me to get off next station, made me buy the correct ticket, guided n left me by saying "f i c u on the wrong train now, its gonna b double the fine"..lol i jus laughed n felt lucky, thanked him n went my way.. he didnt fine me those $200...
nice people, they value life, they r like the most informal ppl on earth n very friendly...i love their accent...guys r mostly hot yet down to earth.. even the girls... n the way they end a few things by calling u a mate..lol.. the only thing i didnt like about aussie land is.. they dont have water taps in the washroom.. all u have is scented paper :D...way to go oz oz oz!! ;)
