Why do people think that in order to be black you have to like hip hop.?

Ok im mixed. I was raised in an urban setting . I listen to jazz ,blues, rock metal, opera and a few other styles of music .

I was told by numerous black people my age that im not black because i don't listen to hip hop because that's the only music that black people EVER invented . If im correct it was rock ,blues, soul and metal , afro punk and a few others . But the vast Marjory of the black invented music was kicked to the curb for the get rich scheme.

Hip Hop is the satisfactory promoting style on the grounds that white persons are making it they're the bulk in America. Some name it black tune on the grounds that It used to be created through black persons Its roots are located in west Africa the entire method as much as jazz Majority of Hip Hop artist in these days are nonetheless black Majority of black persons are into Hip Hop (inform me if im incorrect) It even collaborates with R'N'B nower days that is an additional style from the black tradition But thats lack of awareness its only a style no longer a race style on the grounds that calling it black tune method its just for black all black pay attention to it and it sounds black which might be both fake or dont make feel.

If they say that hip hop was the only music that Black ppl invented, then you should laugh in their face and call them an idiot. Tell them to do some research and to learn about their history.



It's okay not to like hip hop; and it's okay to like other genres of music. I'm mixed and I like all types, rap, r&b, pop, rock, alternative, reggae, soca, gospel, country, etc. And to be quite honest, I don't really care for "hip hop" nowadays, it sucks!

who cares what they think! that's so dumb, if they want to be "proud" of silly songs that only involve f****** ho's and drinking, and smokin weed, and gettin cash, and owning expensive houses and cars blah blah blah then let them! your being more open minded and theres nothing wrong with that.
