Why don't we say twenty o eight instead of two thousand and eight? When it was 1998 we would say nineteen ninety eight. What year will we start saying it the old way again?

Yeah,it's wierd, isn't it? History books refer to it as nineteen o eight in the last centruy, not nineteen hundred and eight, so why's it different this time round???

oh my god - a news reporter said it yesterday and it made me think the same thing! Some peeps obviously do say it.
