Ok I just recently posted an ad on craigslist because i'm trying to sell my laptop here is the ad ~ http://york.craigslist.org/sys/3869566981.html - Now only a day after I received a message from a random person saying they were interested in buying now we txt eachother back and forth and the conversation goes just like this :

Stranger: I am Interested in buying Samsung 15.6" Laptop - $400 (New Oxford, PA)
Me: Ok I'm free on weekends
Stranger; Ok I'll like to buy it for my cousin outta states for $500 including the shipping fees to him and using PayPal okay
Me: Ok I think I can do that
Stranger:Ok do you have a paypal acct
Me: No is there any other way you could send payment like maybe a check that would make things much easier for me
Stranger: No, Okay you may simply log on to www.paypal.com to easily set up a Paypal account fre of charge in less than 5 minutes so that you can pay now Paypal is Safe secure and Fast. Thanks
Me: Ok I would have to make sure the money is in my account before I send out the computer
Stranger: Sure you will are you setting up the paypal acct up now
Me: Yea It's ready my email to the account is whatever@yahoo.com
Stranger: Ok I am about to make out the payment now will let you know when I am through with that so that you can go do the shipping asap today
Me: Ok I can't send it out today I will have to wait till tomorrow morning to send it out since I work all day on weekdays
Stranger: Ok I have just made the payment you should receive a confirmation email in your inbox
Me: Ok I did receive the email do you want me to ship it to the a address that came with the email ?
Stranger: Yes the payment is on pending please read the confirmation e-mail well and please kindly ship it by USPS Express Mail International and send the tracking# to paypal agent to confirm the shipment and post the funds on pending to your account
Me: Ok I will send it out tomorrow morning I will get back to you then
Stranger: Alright thank you , ok please delete the listing and consider the item sold to me
Me: Ok will do ( I still haven't removed the ad)
Stranger:Ok


Ok now this person wants me to ship it to this address ~~

COUNTRY: NIGERIA.

Does this place even exist ?
And would it really only cost 100$ to ship a 5lb laptop all the way to africa ?
Can this person steal my money even with paypal's security measures ?

Should I do it or not I'm starting to think this is a scam and this is not what I signed up for HELP

This is just another Nigerian scam. Google Nigerian scams and you will see they do this often. Nigeria is the kingdom of scammers. Don't send it. The scammers used a stolen credit card and the money will be taken back from you once it's discovered.

It might. Depending on where you live Africa is probably a long way away. It does seem like a scam though and I wouldn't go through with it if I were you.

the best thing to do is to buy it from a pawn shop or a discounted computer store and then if there is any thing wrong with it, you can return or trade it in

dont do it!! it sounds like a definite scam to me. just tell him you can sell it to him. this has happened to me too. I just stopped replying to him.
