when you ask a question do you expect to get at least one smart a*** answer, does it get to you ?

i just shrug it off . i enjoy reading all answers especially when i learn something, and appreciate the humour i come across.

I get annoyed at people who are being mean and think they are being "cute" but I get a kick out of people who are genuinely being funny.

Asking a question will get you answers from people who either want to genuinely answer your question or want to spam your question with useless answers. Shrugging it off is the right thing to do; after all, you're looking for an answer, not spam right? Ignoring the spam and flames is the logical decision.



I guess you're just asking for opinions with this question? Either way, ignore the stupid answers, just like you should ignore the stupid questions.

Yes, I've come to expect it. Although, it doesn't always happen.



It doesn't bother me. Sometimes I respond, but other times I just ignore.



Something that I've noticed- I wonder if this happens to other people- I usually receive a violation notice (along with my question being deleted, of course) whenever someone gives a rude or cruel response (leaving me with the impression that the people who respond in such a manner are also reporting me).

Ya, but I'm usually the one giving it, lol. But more often I find that when I really NEED an answer to a question, it is too specific and I never get an answer. But my biggest pet peeve is when people ask stupid random questions, and they get 20 answers, as if they need it.

People are so easily offended it seems they edit out anything of any real value. It is like watching the news by the time all the good stuff is edited out their is no news just watered down blather.

I have yet to see one smart ass answer. How can you defecate on the names of the good people at yahoo answers like that? For shame! Every person gives well thought out and informative answers!

Yeah, I expect it, and I don't mind it, especially if its actually funny. Its the ones that are missing the smart part that annoy me.
